How surfing LinkedIn has been good for our business

3 reasons why spending more time on LinkedIn is a good investment (for me at least), and some stats to prove it.
(If any of my friends wonder why I post on LinkedIn and share pics like this one, here’s why…)
- I just counted, and 6 of the last 12 founders we started ventures with came from our social media activity. 50% – that’s pretty awesome.
- We’ve spawned 18 ventures so far. I believe 100% of them have benefitted, one way or another, from my LinkedIn audience. If it grows, it can add even more value, both to new portfolio companies and existing ones.
- I’m the guinea pig for our portfolio companies to learn from. If a picture of me dressed as a Medieval knight gets better engagement, that’s a learning for all of us (I’m secretly hoping this takes off and our founders do the same!).
- Last but not least, Oliver, Arjun and I have committed to helping as many aspiring founders as we can, whether they’re part of DQ or not. Sharing our learnings, failures, successes and tactics—with full transparency—gives us the best chance of achieving it.
I’d love to know… what are YOU doing here, and why is LinkedIn of value to your business?
P.S. If you want me to share my top tips from 2 years of posting, let me know and I’ll happily add some in the comments…
P.P.S. In fact, please like and share this post, and let’s make our founders share some Medieval selfies!?
Thank you!
