How the DQventures team can work from anywhere

One of my colleagues, Darius, just went to China for a holiday. He never came back.
OK, I’m being dramatic… He decided to stop and work from Thailand for a while.
The thing is… I actually have no idea how long he plans to be there.
But, as long as he’s happy and getting his work done, none of us are too worried.

I know a lot of corporate folks who “travel with work”. After a few weeks, the novelty of flights and hotel rooms wears off and it can become a slog.
When Darius and the rest of the DQ team “travel with work”, it means something else entirely.
We may not pay top dollar like Barclays (where Darius started his career), but we do strive for fairness, fun and amazing work-life balance.
What’s worth more, do you think?
P.S. The image is me eating one of my all-time-favourite Asian foods, mala, on our last company retreat in Bangkok (we do this three times-a-year, paid for by the saving we make from not having an office).
P.P.S. Fact for the day: the word ‘mala’ is derived from 2 Chinese words: ‘ma’ (麻), which means ‘to numb’ and ‘la’ (辣), which means ‘spicy’. I’m sure you can figure out the rest… I love it! 🔥 🔥
